Silver Strikers have finally terminated the contracts of four players, namely attacker Thuso Paipi, defenders Hadji Wali, Mphatso Dzongololo and Trevor Kalema.
This follows recommendations from Silver Head Coach Dan Kabwe, who deemed the four surplus to requirements early this month.
Silver’s Chief Executive Officer Thokozani Chimbali confirmed that the four were now free agents.
“Indeed we have terminated their contracts based on their performance and conduct.
I think we should not dwell much on this as contract issues are very sensitive,” Chimbali said.
However, Dzongololo accused Silver of breach of contract.
“I was invited at the club house where they gave me the contract termination letter.
They say they will just pay my January salary and that I should find another team.
How can they transfer list us and then terminate our contracts?” he asked.
Dzongololo said they will seek Football Players Association’s intervention.
The development comes after Silver also restructured their technical panel by bringing Peter Mgangira to join Macdonald Yobe as assistants to Kabwe.
