A US based Malawian woman Chiku Nkosi is drumming up support for Covid19 funds under the flagship Miss Jetset magazine competition pledging to raise about 18 Million kwacha ($25,000) in the process.
According to Nkosi, the donation is meant to help local hospital with necessary resources, a goal that currently comes amid reports of shortage of equipment in treatment centers.
To support her initiative, people are supposed to freely vote online to raise her purse for the targeted funds to be realized.
’You win through public voting via a link that is connected to Facebook for verification and allows users to cast one vote in 24 hours. We want to use this platform to reach out to as many Malawians as possible so together we can get this money and stand a better chance at winning the fight on Covid -19 she said.
At the moment, there are about three days left for one person to progress into the next round (semifinals) a tagline that increases funds to the prospective competitor.
