Police in Chikwawa on Tuesday arrested a 30 year old woman for being found in possession of medical drugs without permit.
Chikwawa Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Dickson Matemba, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, Rose Nacheya of Sande Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Maseya in the district.
He said their criminal investigation department was on massive patrols within its territory on Tuesday in which they invaded a shop in Sande Village where they recovered assorted medical drugs.
“The medical drugs included: 180 Amoxicillin, 24 Capsules Etambutol 222 Fragile, Declofenical capsules and 686 Indocid capsules,” stated Matemba
In another development, the officers also arrested another female suspect, Grace Ladiford, 26, of Dziwadzina Village under TA Maseya in Chikwawa District for being found in possession of 11 twists of Indian hemp.
Sergeant Matemba said the two will appear in court soon to answer the charges leveled against them.
