The Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 has given a go ahead to the Malawi National football team with its preparations for its participation in the COSAFA Cup.
Co-Chairperson for the Taskforce Dr. John Phuka has disclosed this during a joint press briefing with Minister of Information Gospel Kazako in Lilongwe.
Dr Phuka said the committee will on Thursday next week come up with information on when the country’s super league can resume it’s games.
According to Dr Phuka, the recent drop in the number of new COVID-19 cases, coupled with low deaths and an improved recovery rate is encouraging.
Earlier this month the Taskforce also recommended for the re-opening of the country’s airspace and the phased re-opening of schools.
Meanwhile Minister of Information Gospel Kazako says government will continue to monitor the situation to ensure all COVID-19 protocols are
followed.
